RESCUE, REHABILITATE, REHOME

Together we can make a difference!

The importance of finding the perfect match between deserving horses and loving humans!

CONSIDER ADOPTING: Happy Horse Haven Rescue removes equine from harms way.  They work diligently to improve a horse’s physical, mental and emotional health while readying each to partner.  The perfect forever home is sought where the animal will be given consistent love, hands-on care and appreciation throughout the remainder of its life.

HHH Rescue also assists horses of varying skills, ages and health  whose owners have an unexpected, immediate need to rehome their animals; as well as maintaining in the rescue those animals who require specialized care or are not candidates for adoption.

Potential adoption placements are carefully vetted to insure the right match for the interests of the home, and the needs of the horse. Adoption is a lifetime commitment requiring financial stability and a sincere dedication to giving the horse all that is needed to ensure their health, safety and happiness.

To be considered, a potential home is a financially stable adult landowner with equine experience (or appropriate staffing), a shelter and enclosed paddock and time dedicated to the furtherance of the equine. An additional horse or pasture mate at the home is a plus but not a requirement.

The process begins with potential adopters contacting Shari Frederick, President of HHH Rescue, to discuss their “wish list” details including age, height, gender, and skill requirements, as well as the goals of the main person who would be riding. Veterinary, dental, farrier care and other regular needs are discussed as HHH Rescue expects all horses adopted to have preventive support and regular maintenance to optimize each animal’s health. Time commitment is also discussed, as a horse requires an average of 1-2 hours a day in addition to weekly groundwork and under saddle time. Adoption is not a sale.

A modest rehoming fee is required to cover a horse’s return to health and preparation for partnership.

Is there a place for a rescued horse at your home and in your heart?

Contact Shari at hhhrescuetexas@gmail.com or phone 325-948-3451 to start the process of becoming the forever home of a horse with whom you will share mutual joy and love.

Adoption is only one way to join the Happy Horse Haven Rescue family. If becoming a forever home is not right for you at this time, consider sponsoring a horse of your choice, volunteer, or donate monthly to help toward overall equine feed and care.

Be sure to let others know about this completely volunteer organization that does so much good for animals in need!
